Construction

Since mobilizing to the site a year ago, in April 2023, the Big Elm Project Team has progressed the civil, electrical, and mechanical scopes of work. Our General Contractor is approaching the finish line for all civil tasks, including silt fence installation, grading of the site for access roads installation and site entrances installation and solar arrays installation.

The General Contractor oversees the implementation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan including the installation of Best Management Practices throughout the site. They do this by utilizing a range of measures including rock check dams, silt fence barriers, straw waddles, scour protection systems, low water crossings, erosion control blankets, and nurturing vegetation growth.

The Electrical teams have achieved significant milestones, with 197,000 out of 500,000 solar modules being connected and completed. We have successfully installed Medium Voltage and Direct Current underground cables. Notably, Big Elm’s project substation stands as a testament to the progress, now structurally complete and slated for electrical energization in April.

Mechanically, substantial headway has been made, with 283,000 out of 500,000 modules installed, along with 63,000 out of 68,000 foundation piles and 40,000 out of 60,000 module support tubes in place.

Big Elm is on track for final completion in Q3 2024.
